Back for the 6th annual year!

You might be noticing something a little different this year. Now called the Ashland Literary Arts Festival, we’re sporting a few innovations that we hope you’ll like. A new name, a slightly different look, and some exciting changes to the festival organization and activities.

The Ashland Literary Arts Festival now has a focus on independent story and thought throughout the entire Cascadia region, celebrating not only books, but all forms of expression: literature, poetry, journalism, art, lyrics, comics, film, and documentary.

Over twenty independent publishers from the region, as well as their authors, will attend this year. Highlights include a reading from Elizabeth Woody, our Oregon poet laureate; a Wonder Woman costume contest; and a showing of the film “Walker,” starring Ed Harris, with a talk featuring Alex Cox, the director of the film, as well as Richard Herskovitz, director of the Ashland Independent Film Festival. Stay tuned as there is much more than that planned for this year’s Ashland Literary Arts Festival.
